Wassail, morris dancing & mummer’s play

#wassail, #morrisdancing and Mummer's Play, Saturday, 19th January 2019, 6.30pm
Please come to #bredwardine in #herefordshire for an evening of "good health" which is our modern translation of the Anglo-Saxon word Wassail. Meet in the Red Lion #hotel car park at 6.30pm. Torches will be lit and a procession to the orchard to perform the ceremony. The Foxwhelp Morris Dancers will dance, then the procession will move up to #bredwardinevillagehall for a few more dances, followed by a #mummersplay, which is a traditional English #folkplay popular in the 18-19th centuries. There will be drinks for purchase on the night plus nibbles at no charge in the village hall.
