If you're looking to stay in a traditional countryside inn, look no further!

The Red Lion Hotel dates back to the 17th century, and rather than 'rip out' history we've kept the oak panelling, low beams, wonky floors and lead-lined window panes.

You've probably guessed already, but just in case - we don't offer ultra-modern, uniform, box-like rooms.

What we do offer is a warm welcome and clean, comfortable rooms with modern facilities, including...

  • En-suite - inc. shower-gel & soap.
  • Central heating
  • TV & remote.
  • Kettle - with tea, coffee, milk, sugar & biscuits.
  • Hair-dryer & fan.

We have a selection of double, twin, triple and family rooms, which can be booked for single or multiple occupancy.

Rooms 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 & 8 are located in the main hotel building on the 1st & 2nd floors. These rooms require you to climb stairs and are not dog-friendly.

  • Room 2 - twin beds with en-suite shower, and view to the front.
  • Room 3 - double bed with en-suite shower, and view to the rear.
1st floor rooms...
  • Room 4 - triple beds with en-suite shower over bath, and view to rear.
  • Room 6 - twin beds with en-suite shower, and view to the front.
  • Room 7 - double and single bed with en-suite shower, and view to the front.
  • Room 8 - double bed with en-suite shower, lounge area, and views to front and rear.

To the rear of the hotel in a ground-floor annex are rooms 10 & 11. These rooms are dog-friendly.
  • Room 10 - double and single bed with en-suite shower over bath, and view to rear.
  • Room 11 - double and single bed with en-suite accessible shower, and view to rear.

Room 9 is also at the back of the main building, and is a 2-story self-contained apartment consisting of a kitchen, lounge area, twin room, double or twin room, en-suite with shower over bath, and a view to the rear. This room requires you to climb stairs and is dog-friendly.

Dogs
Well behaved dogs are welcome in rooms 9, 10 & 11, at a cost of £10.00 per dog per stay. There is a max 2 dogs per room, and they must not be left unattended at any time. We ask that you bring their bedding, towels, etc and do not allow them onto the furniture or beds.
Deposit
1st nights accommodation cost per room. Deposits are not refundable if the booking is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice. ​If we have to close the hotel due to local or national lock down due to the Covid-19 pandemic we will refund 100% of your deposit or enable you to reschedule to a later date subject to availability. The choice will be yours.
Weekends
We require weekend bookings to be for a minimum of two nights, either Fri-Sat or Sat-Sun.
Camping
We are sorry, but contrary to some maps, The Red Lion Hotel no longer offers camping.
